Xtra Mart Armed Robber Nabbed After Hiding in Tree

Police say they found the alleged robber — a convicted felon — with the money stolen during the stick-up.

Joseph Reardon is due in court Tuesday two days after police apprehended him in connection to an armed robbery at the Mobile Xtra Mart on Lafayette Road in Seabrook.

Reardon, 22, of Seabrook, was arrested Sunday for allegedly robbing convenience store at gunpoint, according to police. He was charged with armed robbery, felon in possession of a deadly weapon and resisting arrest, and was held on $15,000 bail.

Police received a report at 11:06 a.m. Sunday about a masked man brandishing a handgun before fleeing with money in an unknown direction.

Seabrook police responded and quickly set up a perimeter, and New Hampshire State Police also responded to the scene to assist with a K-9 search.

During the K-9 search, articles were recovered that police said were used in the commission of the crime. Located were the handgun which was brandished, along with clothing that matched what was seen in the surveillance video.

WMUR has reported that Reardon was located hiding in a tree. Police have said that Reardon had the stolen money in his possession when police found him.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming, according to police.
