A local woman has been charged with aggravated DWI after seriously injuring a pedestrian in a crash along Ocean Boulevard.

A man succumbed to his injuries Monday roughly one day after he was struck by a drunk driver while walking near the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Highland Avenue in Hampton.

Danielle F. Kooyoomjian, 29, of Hampton, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 1 a.m. Sunday, according to a release issued Tuesday night by Hampton Police Lt. Tom Gudaitis.

The pedestrian — Charles Sayre, 57, of Amesbury, Mass. — was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital due to "serious" injuries, according to Gudaitis. He said Sayre was pronounced dead at the hospital on Monday.
