2 Arrested in 'Drug Conspiracy' After Police Raid Hampton Beach

Additional charges are expected against both individuals, and "at least" one other person will also be charged, according to police.

Two Hampton Beach residents were arrested during a heroin and cocaine sweep on Hampton Beach Friday morning.

Michelle Galloway, 45, of a second floor apartment at 24 H St., and Breena Purtell, 39, of 9 G St., Unit 3, were charged after police executed arrest and search warrants in connection to the alleged drug activity.

Hampton Police Lt. Dan Gidley said Galloway was charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled drug. Investigators seized a distributable quantity of heroin and cocaine from the home in addition to "other drugs and money," according to Gidley.

Gidley said Galloway has allegedly "been the focus of an ongoing investigation" into heroin and cocaine distribution in Hampton.

Purtell was charged and her home was searched immediately following Galloway's arrest. Gidley said Purtell was also charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled drug.

Additional charges are expected against both individuals, and "at least" one other person will also be charged, according to Gidley.

Police couldn't be reached for comment Friday about officers' presence that morning on G and H streets. Additional details weren't immediately available Monday morning.

Galloway was held on $20,000 cash bail and was held at the Rockingham County House of Corrections pending an arraignment in Hampton District Court at 11 a.m. Monday.

Purtell was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled for arraignment on Feb. 12.
