Hampton Rallying Around Teen with Aggressive Cancer

Community members are pitching in to help the boy and his family through the difficult treatment process.

Over $5,000 has been raised so far to help Nickolas Anzalone, 13, of Hampton, overcome an aggressive form of bone cancer.

Community members and friends have started the Nickolas Anzalone Cancer Treatment Fund so his family — which includes Anzalone's mother Christine, a Seacoast realtor and bartender at Greg's Bistro — can be by his side during his various cancer treatments.

Terri O'Brien-Finn, the creator of the fund's GoFundMe.com website, posted this message to donors and community members Monday:

"I talked to Christine and [she and her husband] John were able to look through this website and cherish your thoughtfulness and kind words. They are amazed at what wonderful people they have in [their] lives and the new ones that have joined to support them. Keep up the good work, [don't] forget to share this site on your [Facebook] page, your [Twitter] account, your email contacts. [It's] amazing the people who step up to help."

Fundraising events will also be held for the cause, which has a goal of $20,000. More information can be found here.
