A Family Winter Festival  & Fiddling Styles with Ellen Carlson and Jim Prendergast

Post-holiday blues?  Our Family Winter Fest will get you back into the swing of things!  Join us on Sunday, January 26th, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the East Kingston Library, 47 Maplevale Road, East Kingston, NH for an afternoon of winter activities and live music.

Ellen Carlson and Jim Prendergast will present an array of styles in a upbeat program of fiddling music.  Performing on fiddle for over 35 years, Ellen has studied numerous styles, such as bluegrass, Irish, old-time, country, swing, Canadian and others.  She is also the leader of the NH Fiddle Ensemble.  Jim, an accomplished guitarist and mandolin player, is a Nashville transplant who has recorded with some of the best musicians in the city.

Kids activities will include crafts, face painting and hay rides.  Bring a hat, scarf, items for face, etc. to create your amazing snow man for the snow man competition (weather permitting!).  Toast some marshmallows on the fire pit and warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or hot cider.
