Prize-Filled Benefit Tonight for Severely Burned Local Man

Local residents and a restaurant are doing their part Tuesday to help Bryce Parker.

Good morning, Hampton and North Hampton. Here are five things you need to know for Tuesday, June 18:

1. Today's Top Thing: The Community Oven is hosting a special benefit night Tuesday to help employee and local resident Bryce Parker, who was severely burned on May 31 while working on his moped.

Owner Shane Pine said he and his staff "want to help Bryce and his family with expenses, and show our support" through the benefit because "Bryce is a great employee, and a great friend that we all want to help!"

Raffle items and prizes from numerous local businesses are among some of many special activities planned for the event. Pine also said some servers have even volunteered to donate their tips to help Parker.

2. Today’s Featured Fun: Proceeds from dine-in and take-out sales at Hampton Flatbread Tuesday night will go to the popular and inspiring Wounded Warriors Project "Hit the Beach" event. Each year, American Legion Post 35 coordinates the event, which involves taking wounded war veterans surfing at North Beach in Hampton.
