Frozen Yogurt Shop Coming to Hampton

The fourth new ice cream business of the year will open soon.

Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt will open a new store somewhere in Hampton in the near future, according to the company's website.

The store will be the chain's second New Hampshire location, as a shop is , said Meredith Lynn, the company's public relations director.

Orange Leaf Yogurt is a self-serve frozen yogurt shop with 155 stores across the country, and another 90 on the way. The company plans to open its 200th store in August.

"We're sweeping the nation, and we're looking forward to New Hampshire," Lynn said.

Lynn said the agreement for Hampton "was just recently signed" and that the company does "not have an exact location or date" for the opening. She said the company should be able to release more information "in a couple of months."

There are several vacant storefronts in Hampton, including the old Cumberland Farms building near the Lafayette Road and Winnacunnet Road intersection — a building which had a "sold" sign in its window Thursday. It's unclear if this is a possible location for this Orange Leaf, though, or if another business will be going into that building.

Orange Leaf will be the fourth new ice cream business to open in the area this year, joining , and . in North Hampton and  in Hampton also recently began serving ice cream.

Lynn previously told Patch that Orange Leaf has more than 60 flavors, and each store has 16 flavors available at a time. Customers choose their own flavors and toppings, and are charged using the "weigh and pay" system.

Orange Leaf got its start in California in 2008, and is now based out of Oklahoma City, Okla.
