Master Sand Sculpting Competition at Hampton Beach

The 2014 Master Sand Sculpting Competition is this weekend, but the amazing sand sculptures are already under way – that is, starting to take shape – at Hampton Beach.

This is the 14th year of the event, which is funded by the amazing Hampton Beach Village District and sponsors, in cooperation with the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce and state Division of Parks.

There's $15,000 in purse money for the sculptors. The competition is Thursday to Saturday, when voting occurs, including the People's Choice Award from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The awards are Saturday night at 8 at the Hampton Beach Sea Shell stage, followed by the fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
