Should the Warriors have an annual Thanksgiving matchup, and who should they play? Tell us in this poll and in the comments!
While people in neighboring towns and communities throughout New England celebrate Thanksgiving mornings by trekking to the local football stadium to enjoy high school football glory at its holiday finest, Winnacunnet High School — fresh off its first state title in 12 years — abstains from the Turkey Day tradition. Should Winnacunnet participate in an annual Turkey Bowl? Vote in the poll below! An annual contest of this kind could create a polarizing environment that would certainly garner plenty of interest from the community, as locals did pack Warriors games this year. The real question, though, is whom WHS should play. A matchup against Exeter High School could take away from the annual rivalry game, which underdog Winnacunnet won …

Winnacunnet's formidable defense put the breaks on Bedford's quick-strike offense en route to the Division II state championship.
HAMPTON – Four times this season Bedford came from behind to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Today was not one of those occasions. The second-seeded Bulldogs – who earned a 20-15 last-second victory against Keene in last week's semifinals – kept the Division II championship contest close throughout the game, nearly tying the contest during one pivotal minute in the third quarter. But top-ranked Winnacunnet's stout defense stamped a definite "NO" on Bedford's application for more late-game heroics and held on for a 21-13 triumph in front of a packed house rabid fans. The Warriors, who entered the fourth quarter up, 14-13, ate up much of the remaining clock with a 91-yard scoring drive that culminated when Bedford defenders allowed …

Several students placed well at the state regional tourney.

According to coach Alex Reno, 18 teams competed in the tournament, and the top six wrestlers from each weight class will advance to the "Meet of Champions" state championship in Litchfield on Sunday. Hampton Academy placed 6th in overall team points at the regionals, and the following is a list of the Hampton students who placed in the Top 6 in their respective weight classes: Reno said there was also a "great effort put forth" during regionals by Hampton students Cooper Pennfield, Cole Albert, Alex Larson, Connor Newton, Cole Marzinzik and …

We want to see all your photos from the game and ensuing celebrations, and would to be able to keep an image gallery here on the site as a way to pay tribute to another impressive and memorable season. Just simply click the "Submit Your Photos" button at the top of the above photo, and be sure to put in a brief caption identifying players and other important information. Congratulations …

Tom Quinn Having grown up with a Thanksgiving football rivalry game I would love to bring it here to our hometown of Hampton. I think Exeter would be the perfect town to play. So much rivalry and good fun between the the towns.   more ›
