Hampton Boy Nets Over $5K for Cancer Charity

The fundraising totals for Hoops For a Cure are in.

Submitted by Lara Bricker Liam Viviano, 13, of Hampton, raised over $5,000 as a part of his Hoops For A Cure, which helped support a fund started at Exeter Hospital by his mother Anne-Marie Viviano for local oncology patients in need. The charity effort has raised more than $2,000 to date, and donations to Exeter …

It'll benefit a hospital fund started by his mom, who succumbed to breast cancer in 2009.

[Editor's note: This is a release from Exeter Hospital. We will have a story of our own and video at some point soon.] Liam Viviano hopes to shoot 2,000 baskets on the basketball court to raise money for local oncology patients in need. His goal is not related to helping his team win their games, but instead to help local cancer patients win theirs. Viviano is working to raise money for the Beyond the Rainbow Fund at Exeter Hospital, which was started by his mother Anne-Marie Viviano as a way to help oncology patients of the hospital in need by providing assistance with practical needs that can become unmanageable for patients and families during treatment. Donations to the fund have provided everything from help with heating bills, …
