Today's Top Thing: The Community Oven is hosting a special benefit night Tuesday to help employee and local resident Bryce Parker, who was severely burned on May 31 while working on his moped. Owner Shane Pine said he and his staff "want to help Bryce and his family with expenses, and show our support" through the benefit because "Bryce is a great employee, and a great friend that we all want to help!" Raffle items and prizes from numerous local businesses are among some of many special activities planned for the event. He'll be mixing drinks from 5 to 9 p.m. to raise money to help pay for Myla Gott's hyperbaric oxygen therapy. It's all part of the restaurant's "Community Mondays" fundraising effort.
