How about correctly identifying the location. Washington Twsp in WHAT COUNTY? Ther's never aRead More dateline for an article here. Remember who what where when and why?
Mrs. G. April 21, 2014 at 10:47 am
A man fell to his death in front of children looking for Easter eggs, and everyone seems to want toRead More out do each other about the location?
John David Schatz April 21, 2014 at 11:24 am
What is this article doing in the Burlington Massachusetts edition of the Patch? When I wantRead More national news I have plenty of sources.
Mamie Huggins April 20, 2014 at 08:26 am
I agree the fine should be high, but who''s going to catch the litterers? Another 5 or 10 well-paidRead More police officers? How about a camera to invade law-abiding citizens' right to not be watched? 'Unfortunately, the world - or is it just Massachusetts? - is full of ignorant people to whom trash cans are invisible and graffiiti is an expression of their higher purpose in life. I hope the state removes the graffiti as soon as possible. When I'm on the beach I pick up trash.
Old Pizza April 20, 2014 at 09:56 am
Joe - I agree with you 100%. We need tougher laws and stricter penalties across the board. SlapsRead More on the wrists just don't work. I like Singapore too, especially their drug laws. Most users and deals are executed. They don't have a drug problem - or a crime problem. It's the safest place on the planet. The litter problem can be solved just as the drug problem can - make the penalties stiff enough to act as a real deterrent, not just a simple inconvenience
Lori April 20, 2014 at 10:41 am
I would like to see the cameras at that end of the beach and maybe the Beach Plum would like to fundRead More that being the good business for N.Ham he claims to be.

Definitely will add these to my long, long list of "to reads". Maybe I'll live longRead More enough to get to them all. Just finished an oldie but goodie ... but you know? The stories only stay with me for a while, I read so much that I forget what I've already read and after the first few pages, I get into it again and often continue since I liked it the first time around. There will never be enough hours in any day to read all I want to and thank goodness and God for Goodreads and, of course, my library and you, Danielle, for adding to my lists. Was offered a Kindle but know what? I really prefer to hold that book in my lap to read, plus I prefer to use my library ... it's FREE, for goodness sake, why would I pay to read anything but a newspaper? And, even that can be gotten at the library. If nothing else, I just love the smell of a library! (Sorry for my longwinded-ness ... just love, love books.)
Mamie Huggins April 20, 2014 at 08:37 am
Hey Anna - I'm a book lover too and use the library on occasion. But it's not FREE as you say, it'sRead More paid for by us taxpayers. Also, when I buy a book, especially by an unknown and/or local author, I'm helping that person to keep writing.
Anna Bucciarelli April 20, 2014 at 05:48 pm
Of course you're right Mamie but if I don't have to part with an additional penny from my pocket IRead More feel it's a treat. And you're right too about keeping authors writing I especially like books by new, first-time novelists who often surprise me with the wonder of their words.

Those that enjoy amplified off key church bells and off key church piano music have a mentalRead More disorder. And, those that force it onto others are the same that enjoy torturing others.

Pollution is a problem that is very real, but this climate change stuff sounds like a lot of hokeyRead More BS to me. It appears designed to allow money to flow to those in power and those who now have built careers studying this phantom issue.
Ken Eyring April 20, 2014 at 11:59 am
"A high-ranking member of the U.N’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) hasRead More admitted that climate policy has little to do with environmental protection." http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/11/ipcc_expert_admits_un_goal_is.html

all these years we have spent wasting time on this politically created nonsense. real pollution hasRead More gone on unchecked in the third world and elsewhere. let the climatolligist help al gore make movies,( the job they where created for) and get your information from a source that is not concerned with global control of energy (and people for that matter). it does not take a hollywood created title to figure out that cap and trade will throw out what's left of our constitution and put all the power and control of this great nation and you and i in the hands of few appointed people at the u.n. an who ever control's them. Please OPEN YOUR EYE'S.

Where has all this money suddenly come from?? Why hasn't these funds been used to lower the TuitionRead More for in state students versus just implementing a 2 year freeze??

The Roman Catholic Church has been subdued for too long. People around the world worship in allRead More kinds of song and even dance. Liturgical dance exists in the Church but it is kept a secret. It's time to take the chains off people and let them sing and dance with their hearts and bodies! I don't believe that God and Jesus ever intended to subdue people and not allow people to express themselves in church. This priest took a leap of faith and did something very beautiful and wonderful. If we want people to return to our church , let's make it more real and human. I sang in a choir for most of my life and would always ask, "why do we need to just stand here like little toy soldiers"? "why do we need to be forced to sing only select music that is considered sacred and not move our bodies. Unfortunately the people running our church became the oppressors!!! Jesus was a human being with emotions, I'm sure that is not what is intended. I remember one time when we brought in a black gospel choir and everyone loved it. Unfortunately, it was a one time thing. Also when various popes in the past visited African countries, they were seen enjoying the very emotional expressive dancing and music. Why is it not OK if I live in Boston? Thanks to Pope Francis for starting making things more real for Catholics. There are still a lot of conservatives bishops, archbishops and cardinals as well as oppressed laity as well who don't like and want to see this change. Many Catholics fear for the life of this Pope for making so many waves!!! May God keep him safe and may he continue to flourish with his non-judgmental attitudes, I would like to sing more priests take a risk and sing out like this.
fran April 21, 2014 at 09:45 am
I think it was a absolute wonderful "gift" to the couple. There has always been singing inRead More the Catholic Church and this "gifted" priest only added to the couples' day.
Peg Carbone April 21, 2014 at 10:44 am
A wedding is a joyous occasion and meant to be a celebration. The song added to the celebratory moodRead More of their special day! It was a beautiful and memorable gift the priest surprised gave this couple. I do not believe Jesus meant for us to be so solemn although on certain days (I E: Good Friday) solemnity has it's place.
Ray Guarino April 21, 2014 at 09:34 am
"Ray thinks he is an EXPERT on EVERYTHING!! What page was that on Ray in your LWNJRead More Playbook???" The fact that you do not know anything about anything, makes the rest of us look that much brighter jfp. Maybe it's your lack of education that's the problem.
Ray Guarino April 21, 2014 at 09:36 am
"That's the consensus of thousands and thousands of people who won't use public transportationRead More even when it's offered at huge discounts to actual costs." Just because they don't does not mean that they won't. Many of them would, if they could.
Exeter Resident April 21, 2014 at 09:49 am
Ray, the volume of words you use is not proportional to the validity of the point you are trying toRead More make. All taxation is coercive. The fact that people don't pay voluntarily for goods means that consumer demand is not enough to warrant its production. Government indeed commands the production of transportation. It outright "owns" the roads, dictates the prices, controls all mass transit, and unilaterally determines what we can and cannot do in our own cars. We are coerced into paying and we are not allowed to compete. This government monopoly that you support is responsible for 40,000 deaths on roads each year. Tell me: is it worth it? Like I said, you are so afraid of competition that you think that without government there would be no roads, no school, no nothing, that the earth would spin off its axis into the sun...who will pick the cotton? (PS: stating that because some people from centuries ago agree with you implies that you are correct is a logical fallacy: it is a called "argument from authority.")

Ok........lots of happy people here. When my children were young we hid eggs in the yard for theirRead More hunt. One dog used to collect them before we went outside and put them on his bed, smelling the candy inside. Kids learned to trade dog treats to get their eggs back. A different kind of egg hunt- and I miss that dog.
Robert L. Cerra April 19, 2014 at 09:58 pm
hey hey hey -Didn't you get the message -dogs have rights too, the Supreme Crt should be rulingRead More on his soon. We need Al Gore to make us a documentary about the new meaning of puppy love then he can sell us dog food instead of energy credits.
