Seacoast Embraces the Giving, Holiday Spirit This Weekend

Here are some ideas for things to do this weekend. What are you most looking forward to?

Here are some ideas for things to do this weekend in and around Hampton and North Hampton (and be sure to tell us about the things you did and show us the pictures you took by posting on Patch or by e-mailing Kyle Stucker at Kyle.Stucker@Patch.com):

1. Hampton Christmas Parade: The town's annual holiday parade will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The theme for this year's parade is "Vintage Hampton Christmas Parade," which celebrates the Seacoast's history in honor of Hampton's 375th anniversary this year.

Learn about the parade, this year's grand marshals, the participating groups and more here.

Hampton's ceremony, which includes food, horse-drawn hayrides, holiday carolers and more, begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Depot Square in downtown Hampton.

North Hampton's ceremony, which includes caroling, as well as hot beverages and desserts provided at Centennial Hall, is at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at the North Hampton Bandstand at the intersection of Routes 111 and 151.

3. Artists Support for Myla Art Sale: One of several opportunities to help local residents comes Friday night at a special event to help Myla Gott, 23, of North Hampton, continue her recovery from a severe brain injury.

4. Family Comedy Night: Another way you can help local residents is by laughing your butt off during a comedy hypnotist show at Winnacunnet High School on Friday to benefit two seniors selected as U.S. teen ambassadors.

5. Shoot for a Cure: Last, but certainly not least, in this weekend roundup is Hampton teen Casey Glynn's annual cancer charity event on Saturday. Glynn takes "Shoot for a Cure" one step further this year thanks to his Winnacunnet High School hockey teammates and the Exeter High School hockey team.

What else is going on? You tell us! There are plenty of other events, but we want to know what you're going to do. Tell us in the comments!
