Local Girl Wins Community Champion Award

The North Hampton resident recently threw out the first pitch at a Fisher Cats game in celebration of her foundation.

Anastasia Black, of North Hampton, was recently honored as the recipient of the Bellwether Community Champion award, presented to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to their community and in this case to families battling cancer.

On July 21, Black threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a New Hampshire Fisher Cats game and was celebrated during an on-field pregame presentation.

Black started her own foundation, Small But Mighty Kids, when she was only 7 years old to assist individuals who were being treated for cancer. The foundation was created in honor of Black’s grandmother, who is fighting metastatic breast cancer.
