How Much Did Community Oven Raise for CHaD?

The business held its first raffle-filled fundraising party for a children's hospital Monday.

, a recently-opened in Hampton, had a successful kickoff Monday to its new charity-focused campaign, "."

Owner Shane Pine said his business raised "close to $2,000" Monday night for Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock — which was the entity selected as the fundraising recipient for the first month of the "Community Mondays" campaign — thanks to a variety of big raffle items, local celebrity appearances and special entertainment.

Pine said it "was a great night" thanks to everyone who lent a hand for the cause, including Kelly Brown of WHEB's The Morning Buzz, Miss New Hampshire Megan Lyman, several local business owners, and countless residents and regular customers.

Several residents have posted praise about the event on The Community Oven's Facebook page, including Bill Lowney, who wrote:

"Great job by everybody tonight .. we had fun. Looking forward to your next benefit."

Dan "Desi" Lanio, the owner of and the , also had kind words to say.

"love it !...you are a TEAM Player in this great town !...we will support you and others that do so !...Experience Hampton coming Together !" wrote Lanio on The Community Oven's page.

"Community Mondays" continues next week with another fundraising night in support of CHaD.
