The Winnacunnet High School Warriors wrestling team participated in the Bow Holiday Tournament on Dec. 21. The team finished in 5th place out of 17 teams. Finishing ahead of the warriors were the wrestling strongholds of (first to fourth) Londonderry, Manchester Central, Keene and Plymouth.
Top finishers included team captains Francis Rosa and Lucas Rosa, each with a second place medal. Freshman Matt Cooney finished with a fourth place medal.

"The wrestlers are disappointed with the outcome today, especially after their second place finish at Alvrine, but the season is early still," Coach Eric Larcomb said. "We will continue to concentrate on technique and improve each meet."
Warriors looking particularly strong, and finishing just out of the medal rounds were seniors Danny Wright and Mike Palazzolo. Freshmen John Ferrelli and Anthony Rita continue to look like future strong contenders for the Warriors.

Sophomore Ryan Boyle, although having an off day at this tournament, did strength training in the offseason and is also much improved technique-wise this season.
Next up for the Warriors Wrestling Team is a trip to the "Grand Daddy of them all" — the 48th annual George Bossi Lowell Holiday Wrestling Tournament held at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Mass., on Dec. 29 and 30.
The Bossi Tournament draws teams from all over New England and beyond. Over 70 teams will compete at the tournament.
The Bossi Lowell Holiday’s draws the toughest teams and wrestlers from New England and beyond - including defending three-time (2011, 2012 & 2013) champions Mount Anthony Union to perennial champs Timberlane High School, to the hometown favorite's Lowell High School. The Winnacunnet Warriors will be there, up against the best of them – hopefully coming out on top.
