Huge Hampton Indoor Sports Complex Nearly Complete

The indoor facility, which caters to basketball, volleyball, training programs and many other sports and activities, opens next week.

The Above the Rim Sports Complex will hold an open house on Sept. 14 to celebrate the grand opening of its 36,000-square-foot, five-court sports facility on Winnacunnet Road.

The sizable project, located adjacent to Seacoast United at 311 Winnacunnet Road, was approved exactly one year ago Thursday after overcoming a lot of zoning and conservation opposition.

Construction has been chugging along for months, and co-owner Tom Viviano said it "feels great to ben nearing completion."

"I can’t wait to hear the sounds of volleyballs and basketballs in the facility," said Viviano.

Viviano won't have to wait much longer, as those sounds will fill the complex, nicknamed "The Rim," during the open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 14. Open courts, food, snacks and drinks will be provided during the celebration, according to Viviano.

The following is an excerpt from a release about The Rim:

“The Rim” is a 36,000-square-foot sports and training facility that includes indoor basketball, indoor volleyball, dodgeball, pickleball and an athletic performance center. It also includes a concession area offering healthy foods and a state of the art classroom for our after school program.

The sports complex is available for team sports and individual training. It’s also available to rent for company outings and birthday parties. With the grand opening planned, we will be introducing our newly formed partnerships with The Athletic Performance Center of Exeter Hospital, Spartans Basketball, Visionary Basketball Group, Great Bay Volleyball Club and Zero Gravity Basketball.

More information about The Rim can be found on its website and on its Facebook page.
