Speak Out: Should Hampton Beach Host Bicycle Races?

Hampton resident Linda Desjardins, who is also a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombings, wrote a poignant commentary where she strongly disagrees with a recent discussion held by the Hampton Board of Selectmen on whether the town should continue to hold bicycle races on Hampton Beach.

Despite the tragic accident that occurred there in September that claimed the lives of two bicyclists, Desjardins said the town should continue to foster these types of sporting events because they are good for the community.

What do you think? Should the Hampton Selectmen no longer allow bicycle races in wake of the recent tragedy? Post your comments here in our blog.
