Former Winnacunnet Instructor Enters School Board Race

A familiar name will appear on the Winnacunnet High School ballot next spring as a challenger for Maria Brown's seat.

A familiar name will appear on the Winnacunnet High School ballot next spring, as one of the school's former Junior ROTC instructors will seek School Board member Maria Brown's Seabrook representative seat.

Fran Henderson, of 6 Susan Lane in Seabrook, formally announced her candidacy for the Seabrook position on Tuesday.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to continue to serve the parents, children, and faculty of the Winnacunnet School District as the representative from the town of Seabrook," said Henderson in a statement. "I believe my years of working at Winnacunnet plus my twenty seven year career [sic] in the US Marine Corps will be an asset to the school and the town of Seabrook in particular."

Henderson is married and has two children. Her husband, Bill, works at Will-Mor Manufacturing, an aerospace and defense contractor in Seabrook. Their children Robert and Cheryl, a 2003 Winnacunnet graduate, both live in Rock Hill, S.C.

Cheryl is an English teacher at Rock Hill High School, while Robert works as a technical sales representative at Gem Gravure.

Henderson will draw from her experience working within the district if elected to the school board.

"I intend to campaign vigorously throughout the five towns that comprise the Winnacunnet School District and believe my years of working at the school helping many students and their families will be a testament to my willingness to work hard on behalf of this community," said Henderson in her statement. "I look forward to this campaign."
