New Hampshire Ranked No. 1 State in America

A story published Friday on Politico ranked the Granite State No. 1.

Here's the corrected version of the map accompanying Politico's story.
Here's the corrected version of the map accompanying Politico's story.
New Hampshire is the #1 state in the country, according to Politico.

The political website ranked all 50 states based on 14 state rankings from sources like the Census Bureau, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the FBI, and other factors including high school graduation rates, per capita income, crime rates and life expectancy. The website admits that its approach is not scientific.

New Hampshire came out on top, followed by Minnesota, Vermont, Utah and Massachusetts.

Gov. Maggie Hassan and U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster both trumpeted the first place finish on Twitter on Friday morning.

"Always known for our high quality of life, NH is ranked #1 overall state by @politico," Hassan Tweeted.

"I'm glad that @politico has discovered what we've known all along: That New Hampshire is First in the Nation," added Kuster.

Politico took a little bit of heat from some Twitter users because a map accompanying the story originally pointed to Vermont instead of New Hampshire.

"That would be Vermont, not New Hampshire," Tweeted Collin Gately, former press secretary for the New Hampshire Democratic Party.

The original and corrected versions of the map are attached above.

That's only if you work in Massachusetts , no money to be made in Cowhampshire.

Expensive? Manchester NH is the most affordable city to live in in the entire country.

I live in nashua, minutes from manchester, and that is complete bullshit Eric, just because we don't have sales tax, doesnt mean its cheap to live here. We have some of the highest property tax rates in the country, and you know you can't do anything without a place to live.
