Free Wi-Fi Coming to Hampton Beach?

A legislative bill might bring a new era of information access to an area known for cell dead spots.

A newly-elected Seacoast-area state representative is leading a bill designed to bring free wireless Internet access to Hampton Beach through the use of sponsorship and advertising dollars.

The Hampton Union has reported State Rep. Renny Cushing, a Democrat who has returned for another seat in the New Hampshire House of Representatives after his November general election win, is spearheading the bill, which is sponsored by all of the area's state representatives. Hampton Beach Area Commission Chairman John Nyhan reportedly said the idea, prompted by Cushing's own issues in one of the beach's many coverage dead spots, would benefit businesses and would "be a tremendous accomplishment in enhancing the beach experience."
