Police to Hold Sobriety Checkpoint in Seabrook

Officers from Troop A, Seabrook, Hampton and the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office will conduct the checkpoint.

New Hampshire State Police announced there will be a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Seabrook this week.

State Police will work with police departments from Seabrook, Hampton and the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office for the checkpoint in the area of Route 1A.

The agencies say the sobriety checkpoint is one of the most effective methods of detecting and apprehending impaired drivers. They applied to the Superior Court for a petition to conduct the checkpoint.

The New Hampshire Highway Safety Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration approved the program, which is funded by federal highway safety grants.
