Man Sentenced for Hampton Bank Robbery

Ryan Patrick Lane threatened to kill the teller if she pushed any alarms.

A Massachusetts man was sentenced to more than 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to robbing banks in Hampton and Massachusetts.

Ryan Patrick Lane, 35, of Charlestown, MA was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire to 168 months in prison after pleading guilty to committing three bank robberies, according to U.S. Attorney John Kacavas.

Lane robbed the TD Bank in Hampton on April 14, 2013, the Rockland Trust Bank in Hingham, MA on March 29, 2013, and the Braintree Cooperative Bank in Quincy, MA on April 25, 2013. In each instance, he entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money and, in the Hampton robbery, threatened to kill the teller if she pushed any alarms. He fled the banks on foot after committing the robberies.

The case was investigated by the Hampton Police Department, the Hingham Police Department, the Quincy Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by First Assistant United States Attorney Donald Feith.
