Hampton Driver Pulled from Burning Truck on I-95

Witnesses pulled the driver from the truck after smashing out the rear window.

A Hampton woman suffered series injuries when the pickup truck she was driving crashed on Interstate 95 in North Hampton and burst into flames, according to New Hampshire State Police.

State Police Troop A said Amy Strong, 20, was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. April 21. Troopers arriving on the scene said the 2008 Ford Ranger left the roadway to the right and struck a piece of construction equipment parked along the side of the highway.

The truck caught fire and witnesses to the accident pulled Strong from the truck after smashing out the rear window, police said.

The accident remains under investigation, but State Police say at this time neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors.
