Charlestown Man Wanted for Hampton Bank Robbery

Ryan Lane, 35, a man with a thick south Boston accent, is considered dangerous and has a history of violence.

The Hampton Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for the suspect sought in connection to the April 14 robbery of TD Bank — the first of two robberies at that bank last week.

Ryan Lane, 35, of Charlestown, Mass., is wanted on one felony count of robbery, according to Lt. Tom Gudaitis. Gudaitis said Lane is also wanted in connection to a bank robbery in Hingham, Mass.

Lane is described as a 5-foot, 10-inch man weighing approximately 160 to 170 pounds, according to Gudaitis. Gudaitis said Lane has reddish brown hair, blue eyes and a thick south Boston accent, in addition to a "history of violence." Because of the latter point, Gudaitis said residents should "not attempt to make contact with Lane," who is considered dangerous.

Photos of Lane have been attached to this article, as have images of a woman — Amy Cole, aka Amy Roberts, 38, of Weymouth, Mass. — sought by police as an accomplice to the Hingham bank robbery. Gudaitis said the pair, who was aided by another man in the Hingham robbery, "are known to stay at hotels and have no fixed addresses at this time."

Anyone with information on whereabouts of Ryan Lane and Amy Cole are urged to call the Hampton Police Department at (603) 929-4444 or their local police department.
