Alleged 'Significant Source' of Heroin Busted

Hampton police filed charges after executing a search warrant of woman's residence.

Hampton police arrested a local woman for allegedly selling drugs, filing the charges after executing a search warrant on her Ocean Boulevard residence.

Cindy Sheppard, 47, of 51 Ocean Blvd., Unit 5, in Hampton, was arrested June 4.

Police said she was charged with one count of possession of heroin with intent to distribute and one count of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Other drugs seized in the search are being analyzed at the state lab and could result in additional charges.

Hampton police said Sheppard was under investigation as an alleged significant source of heroin in the beach area, with the investigation continuing.

She is scheduled to be arraigned July 10.
