Patrick Ryan Gleason, 27, died unexpectedly on January 24, 2014 in Hampton.

Patrick was the only child born to Danny Gleason and Holly (Stillson) Hurd. He had resided in Amesbury, MA for five years before moving to Hampton in 1993.

Patrick attended Hampton public schools and Santa Monica College where he developed a passion for film photography. After leaving Southern California, he would periodically travel across country when he found an opportunity to conspire with experts in this vanishing specialty science. Utilizing his ability to connect with people, Patrick had recently embarked on a new vocation, salesmanship, which he enjoyed thoroughly.

During his time in Hampton, Patrick excelled in a number of sports including baseball, football, karate, basketball and most significantly, skate boarding, where he was acknowledged as one of the best in the region. Patrick was an intense yet sporting competitor. An accomplished guitarist, Patrick enjoyed composing music with his friends and older brother. He also was an accomplished cook, particularly with a charcoal grill. As one of Patrick’s friends remarked, you could always find Patrick in a crowd, either from his beaming smile or his infectious laughing. His brother Carl noted that Patrick was always there to help whenever he was needed.

He is survived by his mother Holly Hurd and her husband Kevin and his father John Rulli, all of Hampton; his doting grandparents, Carl and Irene Rulli of Auburn, MA and Frank "Butch" Stillson of Surprise, AZ; his two brothers, Carl Rulli of Salisbury, MA and Brent Rulli of Hampton, his eight uncles and aunts and a bevy of nephews, nieces and cousins. All will miss him dearly.

Patrick was predeceased by his grandmother, Catherine Dempsey and his uncle, David Stillson.

Visiting hours will be from 5 – 8 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home – Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. A requiem service will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be mailed to NAMI NH, 85 North State St., Concord, NH 03301 or made online at http://www.naminh.org/donate
