Elise M. Bouchard, age 52, of Danvers, Mass., died Saturday morning while bicycling the Century Ride in Hampton with friends. Unknown to her, the activity that brought her so much pleasure would be the cause of her untimely death.

Elise loved her friends and family and was fully engaged in their lives. She loved her parents “so much” and was very close to her two brothers. Hanging out with her two nephews and niece transitioned into beautiful friendships as they grew into adulthood.

Her resilient spirit and her faith in God enabled her to overcome personal traumatic events. And she never took life for granted. As they were starting the ride Saturday, she told her friend: “We’re so lucky, we’re so lucky”. She was dedicated to distance riding and participated in the Cystic Fibrosis Charity Ride. As a member of the Beverly YMCA for 25 years, she attended aerobic classes, occasionally leading a class, while expanding the scope of her friends. She would jokingly say: “My body is my hobby.”

Elise worked at Parker Brothers in Beverly, Kaiser Systems in Beverly and more recently joined the staff at Excelitas in Salem as an Inside Customer Service Manager. In all of these, she considered herself blessed to be working with such wonderful people and in the recent weeks said: “I love my job.”

Elise was born and raised in Beverly. She is survived by her father and mother, Gaston J. and Lucille A. Bouchard, her brother and his wife, Guy and Kathy Bouchard, her brother and his wife, Bob and Julie Bouchard, her nephews Roger and Christopher Bouchard, her niece Danielle Bouchard. She is also survived by three uncles: Orille W. and his wife Mary L’Heureux of Salem, Roger P. L’Heureux and his wife Virginia of Merrimack, N.H. and Raymond Bouchard and his wife Virginia of Beverly; two aunts: Irene (L’Heureux) Poussard and her husband Arthur of Salem, Genevieve (Bouchard) Morneau of Salem and many close and loving friends. We will always have fond memories of her.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch St., Beverly, Friday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main St., Ste. 104, Natick, MA 01760. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.
