Loren 'Tut' Tuttle, 86, Beloved Seacoast Business Owner

Tuttle was a "people person" who also worked at Pease Air Force Base and served in World War II with the Navy.

Loren “Tut” Tuttle, 86, of Hampton Falls, died suddenly, October 15, 2013.

He was born in Exeter, September 20, 1927 a son of the late Roy Fernald and Lillian Tuttle.

Raised in New Hampshire, Tut enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 where he proudly served our nation during WW II. After his time in the Navy he returned home and attended heavy equipment mechanic school in Boston, MA. 

Mr. Tuttle owned and operated several gas and auto repair stations in North Hampton and also worked as marine repairman at various marinas throughout the seacoast area. Later in life he worked as a civilian heavy equipment mechanic at the former Pease Air Force base in Newington, before retiring after 17 years. 

Tut was a people person who enjoyed stock car racing and watching his favorite sports team the Boston Red Sox.

He shared 65 years of marriage with his wife Evelyn (Young) Tuttle.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Fredrick Tuttle and his late wife Patricia of Claremont, Larry L. Tuttle and his wife Nancy of North Hampton, Kevin Tuttle and his wife Linda of Newfields; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; four sister in laws and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents and daughter in law he was predeceased by his brother Alden Tuttle.

Visiting hours will be from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Services will be private.
