Hampton Crash Victim to be Laid to Rest Saturday

Charles Sayre, 57, of Amesbury, died on Monday when he was hit by a car on Ocean Boulevard.

Charles Edward Sayre, age 57, of Amesbury, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, October 14, 2013 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. 

Born in Oregon City, Oregon, August 5, 1956, he was the son of the late Mitchell and Alvena Sayre and after graduating from Oregon City High School, went on to graduate from the University of Oregon. A proud veteran, Charles served with the United States Army from September 23, 1975 until his honorable discharge on August 2, 1977. Mr. Sayre worked in the financial services division of the Internal Revenue Service office in Andover for many years.

Visiting hours at the Highland Street Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services at the funeral home will be Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Interment will be private for the family.
