Brown's Lobster Pound, North Hampton Mourn Dave Marston

David H. Marston, 68, was a "fixture" at the seafood restaurant and "loved" talking with his customers.

David H. Marston, 68, of North Hampton, died suddenly on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Exeter Hospital with loving family by his bedside.

He was born in Exeter, July 13, 1945, a son of the late Norman and Letitia (Mason) Marston.

Dave was raised in North Hampton and was a 1963 graduate of Winnacunnet High School. After high school, he served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Upon his discharge, Dave went to work for New Hampshire Insurance Company in Manchester where he met the love of his life, Lucille Pichette. The couple were married in 1968 and after 6 years in Manchester, returned to the Marston family homestead in North Hampton to raise their family. Dave worked for Tobey & Merrill Insurance Company of Hampton for over 15 years then worked for SPS of New England for 13 years before retiring in 2011. He had also been a fixture at Brown’s Lobster Pound in Seabrook where he worked in various positions since he was 15 years old. Probably his favorite job, Dave loved working at Brown’s and talking with all the customers he met over the years. 

Not one to sit idle, Dave was a longtime and active member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, a member of the American Legion Post 35 of Hampton and a member of the St. James Lodge No. 102 F&AM of Hampton. He and Lucille both enjoyed skiing and Dave had been on the Ski Patrol at Crotched Mountain for many years.

In addition to Lucille, his wife and best friend of over 45 years, he is survived by his son, Peter Marston of Plymouth, his daughter, Heather Marston and fiancé Jason Gourley of Raymond, his brother Alan Marston and wife Helen of Tenants Harbor, ME and his sisters, Norma Hockenjos and husband William of Jamison, PA, Barbara Robinson and husband Rodney of Portsmouth and Cynthia Brown and husband Bruce of Seabrook, his grandchildren, Alicia and Savanna Marston and Peter Marston, Jr. as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, November 21, 2013 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. Services will held at 11 AM on Friday at the Hampton United Methodist Church, 525 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave’s name to his church at the above address.
