The American Legion Post 35 in the Hamptons is hosting the 6th annual
Wounded Warriors "Hit the Beach" event on Friday, Aug. 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. across from 18th Street on North Beach in Hampton.

This annual community event welcomes wounded veterans, from the current Global War On Terrorism to Vietnam, to a fun day at the beach. Local surf shops Cinnamon Rainbows, Pioneers, Zapstix, and Summer Sessions as well as dozens of local volunteers teach these brave heroes “how to surf."

Besides the Wounded Warriors, this year’s group also includes: N.E. Disabled Sports, The WarFighter Sports, the Home Base Red Sox Mass General Hospital program and many more.

The local surf shops provide all the gear from soft top surfboards to wetsuits.
Members of the Hampton police and fire departments will be on hand to provide any assistance.

Any donations for this event would be greatly appreciated by American Legion Post 35 and the Wounded Warrior Project. 02-6012386
