Patton's Outtastatahs Selected as a Best Read by a Local Author

Two independent booksellers selected Outtastatahs: Newcomers' Adventures in New Hampshire by Gary Patton as a Best Read by a Local Author for 2013.

Dan Chartrand , owner of the Water Street Bookstore in Exeter, and Michael Herrmann, owner of Gibson's Bookstore in Concord, made the choice while appearing on the 2013 Holiday Books Show broadcast Dec. 2 on NHPR's The Exchange program. The Exchange is hosted by well-known New Hampshire radio personality Laura Knoy.

Chartrand commented on the program, "As someone who has moved to this state, we have this fun book from a local Seacoast writer Gary Patton called Outtastatahs : Newcomers' Adventures in New Hampshire. It's a collection of Gary's writing about New Hampshire as he came to this state 20 years ago. He's accumulated some articles which have been published in local newspapers and put them in book form. It's a very funny look at what the process of acculturating to this state is. It's a very unique state. It has a very unique culture."
