Hampton Beach Native Named Runner-Up in Maxim 'Hometown Hotties' Contest

A 23-year-old model-actress from Hampton Beach didn't win this year's "Hometown Hottie" contest.

Hampton Beach native Persephanie Lesperance's quest to become Maxim's 2013 "Hometown Hottie" has come to an end, as she was recently named a runner-up to winner Dessie Mitcheson, according to Maxim.

Lesperance, 23, a 5-foot, 8-inch model-actress born and raised in New Hampshire, was among the final 10 contestants in the annual girl-next-door beauty contest, using her quirky and community-focused spirit to propel her past her competitors.

Mitcheson, of Pennsylvannia, was revealed as the winner of the 2013 contest in a post on Maxim.com on Jan. 16. Mitcheson said in an interview on Maxim.com that she and all of the other finalists "got along so well" during a trip to Las Vegas, which she said was her favorite part of the competition.

Lesperance's page and video interviews stood out from some of her more glamor-focused challengers, as she showcased her looks while also explaining how she uses them to do positive things in life.

"I have a wicked soft spot for charities, whether I'm help raising [sic] the money or donating it out of pocket, I love to help out in any way I can," said Lesperance in a video on her profile. "I think I'd make the perfect Maxim small-town 'hottie' because I’m a true small town girl just trying to make a difference."
