Good morning, Hampton and North Hampton. Here are five things you need to know for Monday, Feb. 4:

 

1. Hampton Woman, Man Due in Court for Numerous Charges: A Hampton woman who allegedly struck a pedestrian with her vehicle in Exeter was scheduled for arraignment today, while a man accused of making child pornography and offering to help a teen girl have sex for money is also due in court.

3. What Else Is Happening Today? Hampton selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. at Hampton Town Hall.

4. This Day in History: On this day 1974, Patty Hearst, the 19-year-old daughter of newspaper publisher Randolph Hearst, was kidnapped from her apartment in Berkeley, Calif., by two black men and a white woman, all three of whom were armed.

Her fiancé, Stephen Weed, was beaten and tied up along with a neighbor who tried to help. Witnesses reported seeing a struggling Hearst being carried away blindfolded, and she was put in the trunk of a car. Neighbors who came out into the street were forced to take cover after the kidnappers fired their guns to cover their escape.
