Energetics of Pain Relief

In this final post on the pain series, I want to tie it all together – the physical, the emotional and the energetic aspects of pain offering you a holistic formula for managing or eliminating body pain to complement other traditional methods of pain management. In the first post, I shared a breathing exercise that has helped me tremendously when pain kicks up in areas of my body, especially back and hip pain. The second part of the series I explained how emotions and pain are connected.
The hips and low back are associated with the sacral chakra, the second energy center located along the spine. When you begin to understand the connection and relationship between the chakras and the physical body, you have another way to approach pain relief. You can begin to draw parallels between your emotions, your pain, and issues that are occurring in your work, life and relationships. As you start to ask questions and use physical options of working with chiropractors, physical therapists, yoga and other body modalities, combine it with breathing exercises, tapping, and energy healing, proper nutrition, and positive intentions, you can start to live a more empowered life free from the limitations of physical and emotional pain.

I was receiving frequent adjustments for my low back. My sacrum just didn’t seem to hold an adjustment for very long. I used EFT to focus on this, starting with a basic recipe using the setup, “Even though my sacrum is twisted and will not hold an adjustment, I love and accept myself.” Tapping through the points, I remembered emotions I had felt when I found out I was pregnant with my third child. I had been using birth control that several women I knew had been using reliably for years. I was attending college part time and working full time. My marriage at the time wasn’t so solid, and I was feeling really overwhelmed with having another child. During the pregnancy, I had experienced constant low back pain. I continued to tap through these memories and experiences. Although I love my all my children, including my youngest, the emotions from that difficult time had been stored in my body. Tapping and acknowledging them helped release the energy I had been holding. On my next chiropractic visit, my sacrum was still in place. It had held the adjustment from the prior week – the first time in months. It continued to hold steady until I tripped and threw it out of balance. That is another tapping story.
This is just one example of the correlation between emotions, often suppressed and forgotten, that shows up in our bodies physically, and how we can treat the pain alternatively. Tapping is also a wonderful complement to other traditional methods of pain treatment.
