World Series Trophies Coming to Hampton Next Month

The Red Sox's 2004 and 2007 championship trophies are coming as part of a big community fundraiser.

Local residents will get chance to take photos with the 2004 and 2007 Boston Red Sox World Series trophies and a representative of the organization during a special, raffle-filled fundraiser next month as a part of 's "" series.

Shane Pine, owner of the Hampton pizzeria, said the trophies will likely be accompanied by a familiar face when they arrive on Monday, Sept. 17, as a part of a benefit night for Amy's Treat, a nonprofit that assists patients of the Seacoast Cancer Center in Dover.

The event is from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 17, and is open to the public. Proceeds from food orders and well as money raised by raffles featuring autographed memorabilia and other baseball prizes will help Amy's Treat assist patients undergoing expensive medical treatments.

Pine said he "love[s] supporting things in the community," and he said it'll be great to raise money each Monday in September for Amy's Treat because the nonprofit does a variety of things for individuals with cancer, from paying for patients' gas to sending them to Red Sox games — which is why he said the Sept. 17 Red Sox night is a perfect partnership.

"It’ll be a blast," said Pine, who said the World Series trophies will be on display for a couple of hours on Sept. 17.

The Community Oven, , is currently in the middle of its second month of "Community Mondays." To date in August, roughly $800 has been raised for , and Pine said there are two more raffle-filled benefit nights this month for the Hampton school.

The money raised for Village Preschool helps the school offer a "sliding" payment scale and reduced costs to parents based on financial need, said Pine.

The restaurant helped raise for Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock during the first month of "Community Mondays" events in July.
