Hampton and North Hampton residents will soon have a chance to locally celebrate the 2013 World Series champion Boston Red Sox thanks to a special night at a popular restaurant.
Shane Pine, owner of The Community Oven, confirmed Thursday that the trophy, known as the Commissioner's Trophy, will in fact be making an appearance at his Hampton flatbread pizzeria during an upcoming fundraising event for Amy's Treats.
The official date of the fundraiser night and the trophy's appearance will be announced at some point Friday, according to The Community Oven's Facebook page.
The restaurant unsuccessfully sought to have the trophy make an appearance on Nov. 19 along with the 2004 and 2007 trophies, both of which appeared there in 2012.
Pine said at the time he was very excited for the chance to be the host of the 2013 trophy's first appearance in the Seacoast area.
