Head-On Crash Sends Three to Hospital

Hampton's Winnacunnet Road was temporarily closed Wednesday after the two-vehicle collision.

UPDATE (3:30 p.m.): Three individuals suffered non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon during a two-vehicle, head-on collision on Winnacunnet Road near the intersection with Locke Road.

Hampton Deputy Fire Chief Jamie Ayotte said there was no entrapment during the crash, which occurred at about 1:39 p.m. Winnacunnet Road was closed for just under an hour as paramedics worked to evaluate the three individuals and police worked to reconstruct the accident.

Two individuals in one of the vehicles were transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, while one individual from the other vehicle was transported to Exeter Hospital, said Ayotte.

Hampton police are still investigating the collision, and weren't immediately available for comment.

ORIGINAL STORY (2:20 p.m.): Winnacunnet Road in Hampton was closed Wednesday afternoon after a two-vehicle collision occurred in the area of the Emerald Isle Motel around 2 p.m.

Three individuals were transported to the hospital due to the crash, according to the Hampton Fire Department.

Crews were still on scene as of 2:35 p.m. Wednesday. Hampton, North Hampton and Seabrook were among the departments to respond to the crash.
