Storm-Fueled Tide Batters Hampton Beach

Parts of Route 1A in Hampton are closed to traffic as waves continue to wash over the roadway.

Some stretches of the road remain passable, but road blocks have been set up in the area of North Beach.

Sections of Route 1A in North Hampton and Rye were also reportedly flooded. One car even got stuck while attempting to drive through the water in Rye, according to emergency radio communications.

Some flooding had been expected around noon at high tide as a result of this week's storm.
