Photo(s) of the Day

Many residents took part in a special artistic expression at the beach on Wednesday.

Local artist Linda Gebhart etches a labyrinth in the sands of Hampton Beach State Park, also known as South Beach, every Sept. 11 as a way for area residents to honor those who lost their lives during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorism attacks.

On Wednesday, approximately 16 people walked Gebhart's labyrinth. Labyrinth walks are part of an ancient technique that involves meditation as individuals trace the winding lines of the design by slowly placing one foot in front of the other, according to Gebhart.
