A lot happened in Hampton and North Hampton in 2013, from incredibly moving displays of community support, to big developments and changes, to far too many unfortunate deaths.

Below is a list of the 13 most-read stories of the year. We'll have a separate story on Tuesday to showcase the "top" stories of 2013, some of which may be included in the list below.

Anything on this list surprise you? It's easy to predict that crime and police stories will annually be the most-read ones on this site, but I personally find it pretty great that a really, really moving and positive video/story came in at No. 5, and that it did so with a massive number of views.
