Common Man Fire, Fatal Crash and a Manhunt
Here is a list of the Top 10 stories and posts on New Hampshire Patch sites during the last week.
The first week of 2014 brought a mix of stories to Patch sites across New Hampshire, from Concord, to Portsmouth, and over to Nashua, and everywhere in between, including accidents, odd crimes, and an electrical fire that closed a landmark restaurant indefinitely.
Here are last week’s top stories based on unique views:
- The top story of the week was a post about another fire at the The Common Man Restaurant in Windham. The fire was a result of electrical wiring issues at the popular eatery, which has been closed until further notice.
- A fatal accident on 101A in Amherst that took the life of a man there was the second most read post of the week in New Hampshire. The Nashua version of the story was third for the week and the Merrimack post was the fifth most read on Patch.
- In Nashua, an Amherst man allegedly bit a cabbie after refusing to pay for a fare. The cabbie then pulled a gun on the man, holding him at bay until the police arrived. The story was also popular, coming in fourth for the week.
- The owner of Jackie’s Diner in Nashua offering parting thoughts after closing the restaurant due to an eminent domain project came in at No. 6.
- A daughter allegedly stabbing her father in Londonderry, during an argument about the location of the Big Dipper, was seventh for the week.
- State Police arresting two men in Salisbury after an assault call and manhunt, was eighth for the week. The first post about the incident the previous day, posted on Concord NH Patch, rounded out the Top 10.
- And coming in at No. 9, was power outage and accident post in Concord from Sunday.
