Trick or Treat, Halloween Parade Tonight

Get those costumes and candy bags/buckets ready with this information about tonight's Halloween events.

Hampton's official trick or treat night is Thursday from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Authorities ask that parents review and practice personal safety while trick or treating after sunset, as darkness may make it difficult for drivers to see children and adults — especially if they're wearing dark costumes.

The Hampton Parks and Recreation Department is also partnering with Lane Memorial Library on Thursday to throw a trick or treat parade through the library and Town Hall from 4 to 5 p.m.

"Participants are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes and prepare to make some fun stops at both destinations," according to the rec department. "The parade steps off from the old town hall municipal parking lot at 4 p.m.; participants should plan on meeting there a few minutes early."
