Among the notable happenings in and around Hampton and North Hampton today are an annual chili cook-off for charity and a third look at a big A Block project.
The former is the Hampton Firefighters Local 2664 Chili Cook-Off, which pits local chilimasters against each other to raise money for the Hampton Firefighters Toy Bank. The all-you-can-eat chili event begins at 5:30 p.m. at Wally's Pub.

The other notable happening Thursday night is a public hearing on a newly-revised version of the eight-story, 100-foot-tall A Block contel proposal. The Hampton Beach project has twice been changed drastically due to opposition to its size, and developers will pitch a five-story, 36-unit building during the Hampton Zoning Board's 7 p.m. meeting.
