A local spotted this great piece of art during a recent voyage to a nearby community.
Sometimes, Photo of the Day is art imitating art, such as this shot by Patricia Baker of a piece of artwork she saw while in Newburyport, Mass. Anyone know who the artist is? It's a pretty great piece, and I'd love to give them a little shout-out. Have a picture you'd like to see featured as our Photo of the Day? E-mail it to Kyle.Stucker@Patch.com!
This image just screams "spring."
Great work by Nancy Rand on her newest Photo of the Day entry, although these beautiful flowers may not be that pleasant of a sight right now for allergy suffers, based on the pollen count. Have a picture you'd like to see featured as our Photo of the Day? E-mail it to Kyle.Stucker@Patch.com!

Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz chats about a busy year of songwriting and touring ahead of a gig at the Casino Ballroom.
Counting Crows are coming to the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom this June. The band has just gotten off the road from touring, and frontman Adam Duritz admitted that he doesn’t want to have to think about the first performance of the tour until the night of that show, if you’ll please excuse him. He’s just a little worn out from his world tour that he and the rest of the band recently returned from earlier this year. “I don’t think much about tours before we go on them, really, in general,” Durirz said. “We just got off two months of touring a week ago. I don’t really think about shows much until the day of the show.” Duritz doesn’t take a break from the music during his down time, though. Right now, he’s putting together material for a new…

It's hard to "feel blue" when amazing blue images like this blow your mind.
It should come to no surprise to any of you that the absolutely stunning image above comes courtesy of Christine Singleton, master of the monochromatic beach scene. She took this wonderfully-blue shot recently at The Wall, and it really, really does North Beach justice. Great work! Have a picture you'd like to see featured as our Photo of the Day? Gaze out over a moonlit horizon, courtesy of today's featured photographer.
It's not too often that nighttime images make their way over as Photo of the Day entries, which is a shame because this Mike Serafino shot is great. What do you think this bird was thinking at the very moment this great wildlife photo was taken?
Nancy Rand recently snapped this shot at the Parker River Wildlife Refuge on Plum Island in Massachusetts. I really love the way she framed the image, which is beautiful in its simplicity. Have a picture you'd like to see featured as our Photo of the Day? E-mail it to Kyle.Stucker@Patch.com!

Today's featured photo comes from the lens of Karin Breen, who took this wonderful sunset photo over the marsh shortly before 8 p.m. Not only is it a great picture, but it also serves as proof that long summer nights are coming.
