Hampton Parks and Recreation Director Dyana Martin has announced the winners of the town's annual lighting display contest, as judged by the Rec Advisory Council.

The winners are as follows:

  • Brightest Design: Gail and Bill Bowley, of Winnacunnet Road.
  • Best Overall: Cheryl Silver (the wife of Fire Chief Chris Silver), of Reddington Landing.
  • Best Business Display: The 401 Tavern.

The winning entries are highlighted in the above image gallery. Each of the winners was honored during Monday's selectmen's meeting and received a plaque featuring a photo of their work. An identical plaque will be on permanent display at Town Hall.

Martin, who didn't actually judge the contest, said it was "so hard to pick one entry over another," and thanked all of this year's participants.

Martin said she encouraged more people to "join in the fun" next year, stating it's "really easy to decorate a residence or business."

"I want more people," she said. "Every year there are always great lights out there, a lot of great displays. People just need to enter them into the contest."
