Dan Singer, the music and band director at North Hampton School, recently received a prestigious honor, as he won the New Hampshire Music Educator's Association 2012 Hall of Fame Award for excellence in music teaching.

The achievement was announced during Thursday's North Hampton School Board meeting, and the attached photo was sent over by board member Tamara Le.

The award, which was presented to Singer in Concord on April 13, is given to New Hampshire music educators who demonstrate a passion for, and a commitment to, music education in the state of New Hampshire, according to NHS.

A notice is posted on the recently-redesigned NHS website to congratulate Singer "on a job well done."

Thanks for your comments, Melody. By the way, that's a pretty fitting name for a music teacher.
