Mill Road Work Starts Today
Three weeks of sidewalk reconstruction begins at 7 a.m.
Monday marks the beginning of the Mill Road sidewalk overhaul in Hampton.
Deputy Public Works Director Chris Jacobs said sidewalk on the road between Winnacunnet Road and High Street will be unusable during the replacement, which he said costs "a little under $9,000."
Work begins at 7 a.m., and will include tree removal, demolition and new curbing.
Traffic on the road will be slowed because one of the lanes, at times, may be blocked.
Jacobs said "most of the time" workers won't be in the right of way, though, and crews will use flaggers to allow vehicles to pass down Mill Road rather than detour vehicles around the area.
