Get Your Sports Team Featured on Patch

Hampton-North Hampton Patch wants to see athletes of all ages in action, so help us highlight your favorite teams!

Whether it’s on the baseball diamond, at the soccer field or during a flag football game at a local park, spring sports are underway around Hampton and North Hampton, and we want to help share all the great moments and highlights with the community!

Patch is looking for athletes, coaches, parents, booster club members and fans who are eager to show their team spirit on Hampton-North Hampton Patch. News about any team — from youth tee ball to middle and high school sports, recreational teams, adult leagues and more — is all welcome.

Here's how you can share news about your sports team this spring:

1. Post in the Local Voices section about your sports team: Share stats, recaps, photos and/or videos from the game in your own sports blog. Discuss the team, coaches and players with other fans in the community.

Interested in blogging? First, you need to create a Patch account, or if you're already a Patch user, update your profile to make it a Local Voices account.

Here’s how to create a Patch account:

  1. Click here to "join" (this link can also be found on the upper right side of any Patch webpage).
  2. Follow the simple instructions to confirm your account.
  3. Log in (if you aren't already through the registration process) and click on your name in the upper right.
  4. Click on "Edit Profile," which should appear as the third item down under "The Basics" in the left the column, to add a photo and a brief bio.

Second, here’s how to get started in the Local Voices section (once you’re logged in):

  1. Click here to begin the process.
  2. Complete setup by inputting the name of your blog, description and choosing or uploading a blog icon image
  3. Click on “Create your blog.”
  4. Now you can either “Write your first post,” “Dress up your blog” or tell people about it.
  5. For your first blog all you need is a category, a brief description, a photo and then your text in the body of the article.
  6. Click ‘Post Now,’ or if you are not ready to post, save it as a draft and come back to it later.

 

 

Here are five other ways to get information out about your team:

1. Upload pictures and video of your team to our gallery: Snap an awesome photo at the game? Catch the winning run, match point or goal on video? Share it on Patch! E-mail hampton-northhampton@patch.com after you post a picture or video so we can be sure to feature it prominently on Patch!

2. Announce your team's wins, awards, fundraisers, highlights, and more: Did one of your favorite players get named as player of the week? Have an upcoming fundraiser? Post an announcement and let the community know. Be sure to add a photo if you want your announcement featured on the homepage, and please e-mail hampton-northhampton@patch.com so we don't miss our chance to feature it!

3. Place events, such as fundraisers, special competitions, etc., on the calendar: Want to get more fans in the stands? Be sure to let everyone know where and when your next game is taking place by posting it on our free event calendar. This is also a great place to let the community know the where and when of any other special team events.

4. Connect with Hampton-North Hampton Patch on Facebook and Twitter: If you have a team Facebook or Twitter account, be sure to tag us in your posts and tweets so that we can help spread the word.
